Welcome to my new blog! I am Kay from PA. I live in the heart of Pennsylvania. In my past life, I have owned a "brick and mortar" shop, a Christian bookstore in downtown Danville. I operated the store for a total of ten years, until my husband died of leukemia at age 44,
Later, I sold real estate in Kalamazoo, Michigan, my hometown here in Pennsylvania, as well as in Lancaster County where I made my home in Lititz, Pennsylvania for awhile.
It was in my early years that my sister and I began our interest in and love of needlework. We first learned embroidery and took much pride in our work. Soon our neighbor lady gave us gift subscriptions to Workbasket magazine. Our adoptive grandmother, Helen made sure we grew in our love for creating. Roses were my favorite embellishment. My sister and I created filter disk dolls in many colors. Mine were embroidered with rambler roses.
It wasn't until much later that I learned to crochet. Though I have knitted many things including Christmas stockings with my kids' names on them, I prefer crochet as it allows me to be much more creative. Everything I crochet is, exclusively, the result of my own designs.
This past summer I rescued four kittens who were born to the neighborhood stray momma. Having tamed them, they found forever homes through our local SPCA. Momma cat and her sibling brother finally found their way into the cat traps and have recently been spay/neutered.
